Timbercroft
Publishing
Phillip has been a publisher for over thirty-five years, over twenty-five of them spent in music publishing. For well over a decade he was the Sales & Marketing Director for Faber Music. During his time there he created both the Faber Wind Band and Faber Brass Band Series and signed the composers Kenneth Hesketh, Simon Dobson and Gavin Higgins among others. He was the editor for both the brass and wind band catalogues and was also the in-house arranger for many other composers in the Faber stable, most notably Nigel Hess, Jonathan Dove, Matthew Hindson and Carl Davis. Many of his earlier arrangements are published by Faber, and he also has items published by Boosey & Hawkes, Chester Music, Lucerne Music, Stainer & Bell and Studio Music. In December 2019 he became a Consultant Editor for Edition Peters and is developing a new wind band series with them.
In the last fifteen years Phillip has created his own marketing consultancy, specialising in working with small firms with no internal marketing department with business development, brand awareness, marketing products and services. In January 2012 he created Timbercroft Publishing, through which he will continue to bring new composers and arrangers to the brass band and wind band worlds, as well as enabling him to continue bringing arrangements of his own to the brass band and wind band scene. Phillip is also a member of the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators.
